Lord make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
And where there is sadness, joy.

O divine master grant that I may
not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love
For it is in giving that we receive-
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned.
And it's in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen
Firstly, hi!

Secondly--no matter what, I support new fic in the fandoms I requested, so if you don't like my requests or can't work them in, write something YOU like, and someone besides me will probably like it. And that will be okay.

BUT, if you want to know more about what I like in general, and what I like in those fandoms in particular, read on!

IN GENERAL, I like character study stories. I love humor. I enjoy slash, het, and gen (not so much femslash, but Glee RPF is slowly winning me over, which is surprising to me). I have a thing for worldbuilding in Sci Fi, missing scenes in all fandoms, and unrequited love in many fandoms. I LOVE it when a character's thinking can be spotted as unique to them (when John Sheppard thinks in flight metaphors, when Walter Bishop's thought processes are interrupted by thoughts of food, when Harry Potter and Hermione Granger get a joke that Ron wouldn't because he's never been raised as a Muggle).

SPECIFIC TO REQUESTS... )

[info]sgabigbang! That Which (John/Rodney (light Jennifer/Ronon), NC-17)

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Title: That Which
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Explicit sex
Genre: Slash, action/adventure, humor, romance, hint of mystery
Summary: That which does not kill us by collapse, frustrate us to death by refusing to love us easily, or confound us by sabotage—that which gives us hope… makes us stronger.

When Teyla's still missing, Rodney's done pining, and John's just trying to figure out where to go next.

Notes: Any resemblance to events that appear in season five are purely by coincidence with one possible non-spoiling exception. Spoilers up to 'The Last Man.'

Huge thanks to my betas [info]cold_poet and [info]beahorgana, without whom I'd be completely lost! A special thank-you to my support group ladies at [info]bb_gene_therapy, to [info]grammarwoman, [info]taste_is_sweet, [info]cathalin and [info]vaginasaurus for listening to me plot (and whine) over and over, and everyone else that had to deal with me agonizing over getting this done (read: my wonderful flist)! Again, thanks.

That Which @ the SGA Big Bang Site.

Writing this was a blast, really, for all that I'm really bad about flirting with deadlines. I've never written anything so plotty before, and it was a lot more fun than I expected! One of the things I enjoyed most was trying to put in some signature character moments for the supporting cast in the story, and so Ronon, Zelenka, and Sam to name a few got their own places to shine in That Which. Ultimately, though, it's John and Rodney's story, where each goes through their own kind of journey. I hope you enjoy!

Big Bang RECS: Dawn Will Break (by [info]ca_pierson and [info]darkmoore, McShep) has a premise that recommends itself (John hops through universes, Quantum Leap-style, fixing things), so I don't think I have to prod anyone too much to go read that (eta: it occurs to me that I raved a lot more than I had planned to about my other rec--this fic was also a great read, fun, fabulous premise, and I enjoyed it a lot)-
-but (as in 'but for those who weren't looking at non McShep stories/those who needed to be poked, of whom I include myself:') I also read [info]siriaeve's These Proverbs We Made in the Winter Must End, a Jennifer/Ronon piece. GO READ IT OMG. Spectacular world-building, spot-on characterization, and the simply gorgeous writing we've all come to expect from [info]siriaeve. Plus, the art, oh the art. *handsflail* I know you guys, like me, have been waiting for your McShep novel-lengths since signups, but this story really is amazing, and [info]friendshipper's awesome art convinced me to read it before a lot of the other stories I've been waiting for. I didn't regret my choice a bit.

GLEE 1x09 (& Avatar)

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Spoiler-laden episode squee for Glee )

YOU GUYS. I JUST SAW THE PREVIEW FOR AVATAR. HOW CLOSE DOES THE FILM MATCH THE SOURCE MATERIAL, DO YOU KNOW? HOW DID I MISS THIS?? This looks *amazing* (I'm talking the world and storyline, I don't know much about the played-by controversy, just that there is one), and I think I want to dip my toe into this and find out if I'd enjoy it as much as it looks like I would from the gorgeous visuals in the trailer. Holy CRAP. EDIT: Not the same as The Last Airbender, never mind on comparisons of those two! Still, check out the preview, holy crap, so gorgeous.

ps. Glee has its flaws, as any show does, but it's GOOD and FUN and you should totally watch it, if only to have a new guilty pleasure. The fandom's kind of fun so far, too! \o/

This is a tricky one. A fine line you cross then you turn from style to null. Besides, thinking of this in summer makes me sweat.

Furcoats anyone? ;)

so cute!!
I found myself taking quick steps to tag as close as I could; whipped out my iPhone(making sure it's on silent) and snap snap snap. That was a quirky goth!
Taken when I still had early mornings, boring lectures, and while my cam was still alive:(

One day I'd like to find myself with courage to ask pictures of passerbys and post it here, share the joy of fashion, and not sneak it in like this.

P/s posting with iPhone app to finish my Internet data! I could have just posted it with lappie in front of me. Heh ;)
